History

Enviromark’s origins date back to 1955, when Donald R. Hobbs established a Roto-Rooter franchise in Davenport, Iowa. Over the following three decades, Don continued to serve homeowners, small businesses, and restaurants. As his business grew, he found his services were in high demand with larger industrial clients in the area.

In 1988, John Hobbs, Donald’s son, joined the Roto-Rooter business and purchased the franchise. Five months later, John founded Enviromark to serve clients’ industrial cleaning and environmental waste management needs.

The Midwest has a high potential for environmental damage due to the presence of industries, terminals, farms, power plants, mills, railroads, highways, and the Mississippi River. John recognized the needs of businesses and municipalities and knew that the Quad Cities had reached a development point requiring high-tech waste management services.

In 2018, ownership changed hands, but after over 35 years of growth from our humble beginnings, Enviromark remains dedicated to the same goal — working for a cleaner environment.
